Keep the work moving.
Use Studio Days in a browser on Mac and phone for one shared journal. The installed iPhone app also works on its own, with local storage. Back up first before moving your work.

Log completed work
Choose a day on Calendar and tap Log work for this day. Choose what you worked on, tap one or more mediums, and choose approximate time. You can save without typing. Notes, a title, photo, project, and other details are optional.
Back up your iPhone journal
Open Settings from Calendar or Today, then choose Data & privacy → Export full backup. Save the JSON file in Files somewhere you can access from your new device.
The backup includes work logs, artwork photos, projects, and saved focus sessions. App preferences and reminder settings are not included.
Restore a native backup
Open Settings → Restore backup and select a Studio Days native-app JSON backup. Check the record counts before confirming. Restoring replaces the current journal, so export your current work first. A web-companion backup has a different format.
Attach artwork
Edit a work log and open Optional details → Artwork & materials → Add artwork photo. Apple’s photo picker shares only images you choose. Wait for the photo to finish loading before saving.
Track time without counting twice
Use Today → Focus to time a session. After at least one minute, choose Log session to save the elapsed time. In a work log, add only studio time you have not already saved with the timer. Insights separates focus time from additional logged time.
Reminders
In Studio Days Settings, enable Daily reminder and choose a time. If alerts do not appear, check iPhone Settings → Notifications → Studio Days, and your iPhone’s Focus settings.
Saving and offline use
The native app works offline and keeps its journal on your iPhone. If a save fails, keep the form open, check available device storage, and try again. If the journal cannot open, use Try again after checking storage. Avoid deleting the app when you need to recover local work.
Delete a log or project
Open its edit form and use Delete. Removing a project leaves its work logs intact. Export a backup first if you might need the record later. The native app does not have a whole-journal reset button.
One journal on Mac and phone
Open this website on both devices and choose Sign in with ChatGPT using the same account. Settings shows the signed-in email and sync status. On iPhone, use Safari’s Share → Add to Home Screen. On Mac, bookmark the website or use Safari’s File → Add to Dock.
Bring your iPhone journal across
Export a full backup from the installed iPhone app. In the website, sign in and choose Settings → Import backup. This adds logs, projects, sessions and photos while keeping existing work. Review overlaps in Settings. Older backups lack a time zone, so check their dates after importing.
This is a one-time transfer. The installed iPhone app does not sync directly; continue logging in this website on both devices to share ongoing changes.
Offline and overlapping edits
Open the website once while online. Entries are saved in an account-specific copy on your device, then synced when you reconnect. Keep the original browser data until Cloud saved appears. If the same record changes on two devices, both versions remain in Settings for review. A full backup includes the alternatives.
Photos need a connection and sign-in. Browser storage can be cleared by the operating system or by you; keep regular full backups. If sync needs attention, use Sync now and read the error before switching devices.
Appearance
In Settings, choose Light, Dark, or Match Device. The choice is remembered independently on each device.
